What are Discipleship groups?

Discipleship Groups are small groups within our Laurel family, consisting of 4 to 10 people, who encourage one another to spiritual growth in our discipleship journey. These groups meet weekly for 8 to 12 weeks at a time in a 2 semester structure during the calendar year. Discipleship Groups study a theological theme, book of the Bible, or topic from scripture. While other fellowships in our church ministry are open to anyone, discipleship groups are for members of Laurel Baptist Church only. One exception to this is our Christianity Explored group. This group, offered in English and Spanish, is open to anyone.

Spring Groups: March 3 - May 26, 2024

Fall Groups: August 4 - October 27, 2024

What's involved in a discipleship group meeting?

Four things happen during a discipleship group meeting:

1. Bible Study - we read and study the lesson during the week and discuss the questions at our meeting.

2. Prayer - we share our burdens with one another and then pray for one another.

3. Accountability - we work hard to stir one another up to love and good works.

4. Fellowship - we enjoy Christian community together.
