Planning Your First Visit

Here are a few things to keep in mind as you plan your first visit...

Whether you live in Charlotte, Concord, Harrisburg, Mint Hill, or the surrounding areas our church is easy to find. Click here for directions that are made available on our website.

Knowing Where To Go
One you arrive we will have parking lot attendants and greeters ready to show you where to go. They will even be available to help you grab a cup of coffee and assist you to the appropriate nursery, kid's class, or service. Please stop by our Information Desk in the church lobby to receive a guest information packet and gift for being our guest.

Childcare, Children's Classes, and Teenagers
At every service there are safe and clean nurseries for your children. During the  morning service (10:00am) we have a kid's church for children up to 5th grade. On Sunday evenings (5:30pm) we have Awana Clubs for kids 5th grade and younger. All of our children's and teen workers have been trained and qualified for their ministry to your family. On Wednesdays we have a special Bible study designed just for teenagers at 7:00pm.

What To Expect
First, expect a grace-centered environment. You don't have to have it "all together" in order to fit in. LBC is filled with regular, every day people who have struggles and questions about life. You don't have to worry about being different or being evaluated by others. We are a diverse group of people with commonality in Jesus Christ.

Second, expect a gospel-focused environment. Our ministry is not defined by pointless tradition or preferential issues. Our focus is the gospel of Jesus Christ and how it changes lives in this culture.
Third, expect a Christ-honoring environment. The audience of worship is Jesus Christ not man. At Laurel, our services are filled with meaningful worship. Our music is inspirational and enjoyable, and the Bible messages are simple, scriptural, and straightforward.

The Connection Card
We want to encourage you to pick up a guest information packet from our Hospitality Tent located outside of the main entrance, and fill out the provided connection card to let us know how you enjoyed your visit. If you take the time to fill out the connection card we will give you a special gift, and our pastor will also mail you a gift card to Dunkin' Donuts as a another way of saying "thanks" for being our guest. As you can tell, we love it when people visit our church and we hope you will visit soon.

Sunday Services
Our morning worship service begins at 10:00am where the focal point of the service is the preaching of God's Word. Every service our pastor intentionally teaches God's Word chapter by chapter, verse by verse. At the end of the service counselors are available at the front of the auditorium to give biblical counsel and prayer where needed.

Our 5:30pm service is an entirely different service from our morning worship. Pastor Blankenship delivers a different Bible message in the evening service. The 5:30pm service also includes the Awana Club program for children 5th grade and younger.

Mid-Week Connection Groups

Throughout the week, there are small group fellowships designed to provide opportunities to help you develop Christ-centered relationships and continued discipleship in weekly Bible study. These groups are called Connection Groups and take place on Wednesday mornings, evening, and Thursday evenings.

If there’s something we missed, please call us. We want your first visit to Laurel Baptist Church to be a tremendous experience. It is our desire to serve you and your family. We look forward to seeing you this Sunday!
